About the work:
“Impediment” revisits an archival image of the destroyed Warsaw ghetto through a layered abstract language of concealment and exposure. Fragmented surfaces and shifting planes echo cycles of destruction, erasure, and rebuilding.
Red and blue vertical forms suggest skeletal presences within the composition, while thin linear elements move through the surface like traces of memory. The painting reflects on how histories of trauma persist beneath visible structures, never entirely disappearing.
