“Gomorrah,” from the City Limits series, is based on a historical photograph of destroyed buildings in Hamburg after the air raids of 1943, taken near an area where the artist later lived. Architectural traces emerge through layered abstraction, as if filtered through distance and memory.
Translucent geometric fields of colour partially obscure and reconfigure the underlying image, referencing coded systems associated with the concentration camps. The painting balances historical reference with shifting abstraction and fragmentation.

An acrylic abstract painting featuring a background of muted, washed-out tones with faint, indistinct shapes resembling ruined buildings. Bold horizontal stripes in red and blue overlay the background, intersected by vertical pink lines. Drips of paint run down, adding texture and a sense of decay. Large, black circular shapes punctuate the composition.
