Hamburg

“Hamburg,” from the Stripes series, draws on memories of the city where I grew up. The vertical brown structure at the surface introduces a sense of order and weight, echoing the presence of historic brick architecture and the more restrained rhythms of everyday life. Beneath this, layers of colour and movement break through with a contrasting energy — irregular, fluid, and alive with the sense of a city in motion.
Hints of blue carry an echo of waterways, while brighter passages shift the mood toward something more open and expressive. Among them, the pink elements introduce a quieter, more personal note, touching on the complexities of identity and the desire to push against established boundaries.
