“The Wild Rose” takes its cue from the song Where the Wild Roses Grow, drawing on its mix of beauty, darkness, and quiet melancholy. Broad, interlocking forms create a sense of tension and intimacy, their movements echoing the emotional shifts within the narrative.
A pale veil settles across much of the background, softening the deeper tones beneath it and creating a surface that feels both calm and concealing. Above, darker passages of black and brown emerge with a heavier presence, while touches of red and pink introduce a more fragile, luminous register.
The work follows the atmosphere of the song — its contrasts, its undercurrents, and the way tenderness and unease can occupy the same space.
