About the work:
“Relic III” forms part of the Future Relics series, which imagines how fragments of our present might be read by a distant future. The work centres on a framework of stark white lines, a structure that hints at containment or constraint, yet whose original purpose remains ambiguous — a trace of an unfamiliar past preserved without explanation.
On top of this lattice, a vivid blue-turquoise symbol introduces a different register, as if another signal or layer of meaning were intersecting with the relic. Its clarity contrasts with the austerity of the white forms, suggesting a dialogue between what survives, and what becomes undecipherable over time.
Rather than pointing to a single narrative, “Relic III” asks how the objects and systems of today might one day be interpreted, or misread, through the eyes of future observers.
