Relic II

About the work:
“Relic II” continues the speculative thread of the Future Relics series, imagining how the structures and objects of our present might appear to a distant future. Textured grids and muted tonal fields create a sense of containment or erosion — traces of systems whose purpose can be sensed but not fully deciphered.
Across this layered ground, a stark white cross asserts itself as a striking but enigmatic mark. Though it could be easily interpreted as a fixed symbol, it may instead operate as a signal or annotation whose meaning has shifted across time, leaving it unreadable to us now.
The work considers how the structures shaping our relationship with other species might be interpreted from a distant future. Relic II becomes both an imagined artefact and a meditation on the instability of human intention.
