About the work:
“Urban Strata” works with a language of intersecting planes, textured grounds, and sharply defined shapes, creating a sense of layered construction. The red forms cut across the composition with a decisive, structural force, while the underlying marks and translucent passages reveal traces of earlier movements and shifting spatial intentions.
Although the piece draws on the formal clarity of Constructivism, it also holds a more unsettled energy. The interaction of opaque and transparent layers suggests a city built from repeated adjustments — additions, erasures, and fragments that never fully stabilise.
In “Urban Strata,” structure and disruption coexist, leaving the sense that even the most solid elements in an urban environment are temporary arrangements.
