Whirl

About the work:
Whirl is built around a sense of rotational force and compression. A muted, square form in the upper field acts like a funnel or aperture, while a charged yellow trajectory rises from below, pulling the composition into motion. Across this field, rigid elements and agitated lines collide, setting up a tension between order and disturbance.
Geometric structures begin to behave unpredictably, while more organic marks are pushed into repetition and pattern. Rectangular forms are caught and distorted as they move through the composition, while rotating black and white lines suggest blades or systems in perpetual motion. The work hovers at the point where mechanism and life begin to blur.
