About the work:
“The Pull” unfolds across two panels, setting up a tension between separation and connection. The forms appear stretched and drawn across the divide, as if responding to an unseen force that operates between the canvases rather than within either one alone. This spatial gap becomes active — a charged interval where movement, pressure, and alignment are negotiated.
Within each panel, layered shapes oscillate between structure and dissolution. Gestural lines and solid blocks suggest weight and resistance, while softer transitions imply a gradual yielding. The diptych format reinforces the sense of opposing forces at work: attraction and restraint, advance and hesitation. Rather than resolving this tension, the painting holds it in balance, allowing the viewer to sense the pull as an ongoing condition rather than a completed action.
