About the work:
“Next” is structured around a dominant outlined form that occupies the centre of the composition. The shape reads ambiguously — part figure, part apparatus — suggesting a presence that could be bodily, mechanical, or architectural. Its open contours and extensions give it a provisional quality, as if it were assembling itself or preparing to transform.
Around and within this framework, layered planes and linear interruptions create a sense of progression and adjustment. Earlier layers remain visible beneath newer ones, reinforcing the idea of movement through stages rather than forward momentum.
