About the work:
Fallen is structured around a dense, layered field in which several forms occupy the space simultaneously. A dominant, weighty figure anchors the composition, while smaller, fragmented presences appear above and to the sides — some clearly defined, others partially obscured behind planar structures. These overlapping elements create a sense of compression, as if multiple events or viewpoints are unfolding within the same moment.
Rather than centring on a single narrative, the work holds a state of imbalance and aftermath. Figures seem to emerge, retreat, or linger at the edges, suggesting exposure, vulnerability, and the uneasy coexistence of witness and participant. The painting resists clarity, allowing tension to remain unresolved.
