“Yellow Black Sand” is anchored by a bold, graphic top layer that divides the composition into two distinct visual fields. Through this structure, fragmented forms emerge — shapes that could be read as weathered stones, eroded objects, or abstract figures caught in shifting sands.
The stark contrast of yellow and black evokes the intensity of coastal light at its highest and lowest extremes. Beneath it, the textured underlayers introduce a sense of time, erosion, and movement.
