About the work:
“Poolside” is built around a dark, opaque top layer that cuts sharply across the composition. The shapes revealed beneath it suggest fragments of an architectural form — a possible building edge, a rectangular pool-like space, or even a figure emerging at the top.
The work holds these possibilities without fixing them, focusing instead on how the exposed areas and solid blocks of colour interact. This combination of clarity and ambiguity gives the piece its tension, allowing multiple readings to sit side by side.
