About the work:
“Dissolution” explores a different response to rupture — one shaped not by rebuilding, but by gradual absorption and change. At the centre of the composition, a soft blue form seems to merge with the surrounding structure, its edges shifting as if the figure is slowly being altered by what envelops it. Rather than resisting fragmentation, it yields to it, allowing the self to blur, recombine, and take on new contours.
The layered background, with its muted textures and disrupted geometries, mirrors this process of internal drift. Forms dissolve rather than break; transitions feel slow, porous, almost tidal. In contrast to its companion work Reassembly, which suggests a deliberate act of reconstruction, Dissolution reflects a quieter transformation—one in which change occurs through assimilation rather than repair.
The work sits in the space between disintegration and becoming, capturing the moment when an old shape fades and a new one has not yet fully formed.
