London and Valencia based artist Joerg Kesín was born in Hamburg, Germany where he lived until 1999. During the 1990’s he also spent extended periods of time in Russia and Uzbekistan, following the break-up of the Soviet Union, which added to his experiences and inspirations.
Working mainly with oil and acrylics, his paintings explore the complexity of perception, memory, and experience. Each work develops gradually, using layering, gestures, and surface shifts to build visual fields that suggest internal landscapes or quiet narratives.
Influenced by associative abstraction and early modernist strategies of deconstruction, Kesin’s practice often breaks down a subject—be it psychological, sensory, or sociocultural—into compositions that evoke drifting relationships between thought, feeling, and form.
Rather than offering clear resolutions, the works open space for ambiguity. Some explore the tension between control and intuition; others hint at imagined histories, or alternate forms of seeing.
Across series, the focus remains on the subtle intricacies of perception, where clarity is unstable and meaning continues to shift.
Kesín’s work is profiled on international art platforms including Artsy.
Works held in private collections across Europe.
